Trolling and Language
When my vision of this community first came to me, I imagined a friendly community for any and everyone out there to be able to join and have a fun time. It is Paleo4PCOS's policy therefore, to maintain a friendly feel within the community. Trolling will be clamped down on—no exceptions. What is trolling? Wikipedia defines a troll as "someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion."
There is a difference between controversial chatter and trolling. The former has a purpose and the latter does not. We don't want to limit your speech but we do ask that you keep "controversial" discussions at a minimum. We want everyone to to have fun and feel comfortable sharing. Even then, we do not want to see any racial/ethnic/sexual preference or any other discriminatory discussions. *We have a ZERO tolerance policy for cyber bullying. It will not be condoned or allowed on this forum. You will be banned*
If this board is going to be suitable for most people, please avoid using bad language. Try to look for alternatives. A swear filter is in place, but if you try to get around it or use offensive alternatives, you will be warned. Repeat offences will result in being banned.
Personal Attacks
Under no circumstances will we allow attacks targeted at members of this forum. Again, *We have a ZERO tolerance policy for cyber bullying. It will not be condoned or allowed on this forum. You will be banned* If you were targeted, or saw a post, please contact me so that I can take action if I have not already. It can be hard to be everywhere at once and I would appreciate your help to keep this forum a safe and friendly place.
Complaints
Keep them to the Suggestions, Comments and Complaints forum. However, if your complaint is about a particular post, use the Report button. We value your input as a member.
Spam/Self-Promotion
If you want to self-promote your website, put it in your forum signature. However, we will not allow you to add any links to shady deals, such as "Get a free iPod!". Non-compliance will result in a warning, or in severe cases, a ban. If you are unsure of whether what you want to advertise is allowed, or your means of doing so, please send me a message.
Everything Else
Don't post the same thread in different forums
Avoid bumping threads, especially if you were the last poster
Try to read the forum names so you post your thread in the right one
Keep your signatures sensible: for now proper rules haven't been established but will be when we see what is "unsuitable"
Also look for rules threads in the individual forums; some forums have their own rules in addition to these, and some do not
